About the position

The HR Data Analyst will play a crucial role in collecting, organizing, interpreting, and summarizing human resource data to provide actionable insights that assist HR in decision-making, policy formulation, workforce planning, and other HR functions. This position is designed for a remote work environment, allowing the analyst to work from home while contributing to the HR team's objectives. The analyst will be responsible for regular reporting, utilizing tools such as Excel and Workday, and will develop methods to identify data patterns and trends from various information sources. Additionally, the role involves providing project support for various HR initiatives, ensuring that data-driven insights are integrated into HR strategies. In this position, the HR Data Analyst will support reporting needs across all HR functions, which includes configuring new reports, troubleshooting existing reports, and advising on potential reporting solutions available within Workday. The analyst will engage in the HR data lifecycle, which encompasses data extraction from multiple sources, preparing data for analysis through file merging and data cleaning, and creating metrics and analytics to inform future HR activities. The role also requires maintaining and updating files, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, to ensure that HR stakeholders have access to the most current data. The analyst will consult with HR stakeholders to understand their business requirements and provide data-driven recommendations for HR policies and initiatives. This includes ongoing support for HR projects, which involves schedule planning, task tracking, and communication with team members. The ability to present information clearly and respond to changing assignments is essential for success in this role. The HR Data Analyst will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Support reporting needs across all HR functions including configuration for new reports, troubleshooting existing reports, and advising on potential reporting solutions available within Workday.
  • Support and participate in the HR data lifecycle including data extraction or gathering from multiple sources; prepare data for analysis including file merging, data cleaning and entering formulas; create metrics and analytics and reporting information through data visualization techniques.
  • Consult with HR stakeholders, using data, metrics, and analytics to identify recommendations and feedback for HR policies and initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing support to HR projects and initiatives including schedule planning, task tracking, communication/correspondences with team members, and reporting relevant trends.
  • Meet with HR stakeholders to understand business requirements in order to generate data-driven solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, MIS or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred in industrial/organizational psychology.
  • One (1) year or more collecting, organizing, interpreting and presenting simple and advanced analyses, experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
  • One (1) year or more with Microsoft SharePoint and HRIS data and systems, preferred.
  • One (1) year or more creating Workday Custom Reports & Calculated Fields.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Excel Pivot Table.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
