About the position

The position involves managing and auditing appointment data for staff and trainees within a university setting, ensuring compliance with payroll policies and procedures. The role serves as a primary information source for departments, focusing on data management, customer service, and adherence to established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time and accurate completion of transactions/data entry in a high volume Human Capital Management (HCM) system.
  • Create leave requests, submit corrections to pay and vacation balances, and process sign-on bonuses.
  • Apply academic appointment data accurately across various departments, including tenure status and rank.
  • Monitor monthly reports related to minimum wage and employee salaries, resolving issues with departments as needed.
  • Enter and audit payroll documents for accuracy and timeliness, adhering to university deadlines.
  • Respond to departmental questions regarding transactions and facilitate problem resolution across HR/Payroll.
  • Assist departments with salary and merit planning, conducting simple analyses to resolve issues.
  • Serve as a liaison to payroll and respond to high-volume policy and procedural questions.
  • Adhere to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and engage in continual improvement through training.
  • Provide back-up support and assistance to the team, participating in business process testing as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • 2 years of experience in a large, complex Human Resources/Payroll Service Center environment.
  • Proficiency in computer navigation and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with Absence Management and Human Capital Management Systems.
