About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management and senior leadership, along with a deep understanding of HR systems and processes. This role is critical in ensuring that our HR department operates efficiently and effectively, supporting the overall mission of the hospital. The HR Director will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the hospital's goals, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. In this position, the HR Director will lead a strong HR team of four professionals, guiding them in their daily operations and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to manage various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development. The HR Director will also play a key role in developing policies and procedures that promote a fair and equitable workplace, while also addressing the unique challenges faced in a healthcare environment. The HR Director will report directly to the hospital's executive leadership and will be instrumental in driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to navigate complex HR issues within the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR department and manage a team of HR professionals.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the hospital's goals.
  • Oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in HR practices.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Develop policies and procedures that promote a fair and equitable workplace.
  • Address complex HR issues specific to the healthcare sector.

Requirements

  • Must have 2 years of HR Director experience in a Hospital/Acute Care setting.
  • Healthcare HRD experience is a requirement and not negotiable.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience in human resources is required.
