As the HR Director for Operations & Managed Services, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Operations/Distribution, Customer Service, and Managed Service functions within the customer channels group. Reporting directly to the group HRVP, you will be responsible for translating business strategies into effective HR strategies that align with both short- and long-term goals. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering core products that facilitate growth and in fostering an organizational culture that embodies our core values of Innovation, Intensity, Involvement, and Integrity. In this role, you will own and deliver functional HR strategies and workforce plans, identifying gaps and opportunities to drive organizational and talent initiatives. You will collaborate with Country HR Leaders and Regional HR Partners to implement key initiatives across various geographies, ensuring that our HR practices are aligned with our business objectives. Your ability to facilitate organizational diagnosis and metrics will be essential in driving efficiency through talent and organizational capabilities. As a change motivator, you will guide and direct successful transformations while mentoring and developing teams to build a diverse bench of future leaders. You will partner with various functions to meet and exceed customer needs, enhancing organizational capacity through the development and facilitation of senior leadership teams. Additionally, you will mentor senior leaders on complex leadership issues, including talent management, and build standard work and management dashboards to assess and communicate the operational and strategic performance of the HR function. Your role will also involve establishing strong relationships with peers at Thermo Fisher Scientific to ensure strategic and operational alignment across the Customer Channels Group (CCG).

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the Functional HR strategies, solutions and workforce plans that align with both the short- and long-term goals.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to drive winning organizational and talent initiatives.
  • Contract with Country HR Leaders and Regional HR Partners to implement key initiatives across geographies.
  • Facilitate organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive organizational efficiency through talent and organizational capabilities and culture.
  • Act as a motivator for change; guide and direct successful change while leading, mentoring, and developing teams—building a diverse bench of future leaders.
  • Partner with functions to meet and exceed customer needs.
  • Build organizational capacity through development and/or facilitation of senior leadership teams.
  • Mentor senior leaders on complex leadership issues, including talent issues.
  • Build standard work and management dashboards to assess, lead and communicate operational and strategic performance of the HR function, adopting a culture of continuous improvement through our PPI (Practical Process Improvement) Business System.
  • Establish and form relationships with Thermo Fisher Scientific peers and ensure strategic and operational alignment across CCG and maintain high levels of customer allegiance by building strong customer relationships and promoting an excellent customer experience.
  • People leadership of HR Business Partners including performance management, engagement and development.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of HR experience (multinational), global experience strongly preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to define a solution and implement (scope, requirements, profitability, budget, and time), while driving customer satisfaction.
  • Solid understanding of talent process and succession practices.
  • Demonstrable ability to engage with multiple levels of leadership both internally and externally, and influence peers and senior management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment; self-directed.
  • Strong communication skills- written and verbal; ability to communicate to and facilitate audiences at all levels.
  • Highly collaborative; aligns effectively with colleagues and leadership to deliver results.
  • Ability to travel as required for appropriate key meetings and forums (around 10% of the time).
