About the position

The HR Director at Medtronic will serve as a strategic partner in providing HR support to the Mechanical Circulatory Support and Structural Heart and Aortic Operating Units. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business needs, focusing on culture, talent, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Director will lead initiatives in organizational design, talent acquisition, employee relations, and total rewards management, ensuring the delivery of HR services that foster a high-performing culture and drive inclusion and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, drive and deploy business and human capital strategies across multiple businesses and functions.
  • Provide strategic direction to build upon ID&E action plans and foster a culture that drives inclusion, innovation, and engagement.
  • Lead Organizational Design and Organizational Transformation initiatives.
  • Apply organization consulting principles and data to diagnose business needs to achieve contracted outcomes.
  • Provide leadership for talent strategies including talent acquisition, retention, and development.
  • Influence business outcomes through credible relationships with leaders and HR colleagues in a matrixed environment.
  • Develop and foster relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement change management strategies.
  • Assist functional leaders in ensuring effective organization structure and communication.
  • Drive change management to ensure a constantly learning and growing organization.
  • Partner with management to implement regular Talent Reviews, Organization Reviews, and Performance Reviews.
  • Collaborate with the COE Talent Acquisition Team to identify critical talent and build organizational capabilities.
  • Partner with the COE Employee Relations hub to resolve employee relations issues and ensure compliance with employment practices.
  • Lead and implement employee and leadership development strategies in collaboration with the COE Training & Development Teams.
  • Partner with the COE to implement and communicate compensation and benefits programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of human resources experience (8+ years with an advanced degree).
  • 7+ years of managerial experience in HR.
  • Experience in organizational transformation and HR strategy development.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday, PeopleSoft preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong coaching, consulting, and facilitation skills.
