About the position

Vaco Phoenix is seeking an experienced HR Director to join a top client in Phoenix, AZ. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing a team of five HR Generalists and will focus on key areas such as payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, and compensation management. The HR Director will play a crucial role in the success of the organization by managing employee relations, implementing effective HR strategies, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. This position is based in Chandler and is an in-office role, with an immediate hiring need. The HR Director will develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy, ensuring that the HR function supports the organization's goals. A significant part of the role involves bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other issues that may arise. The HR Director will also manage the recruitment and selection process, which includes interviewing and onboarding new employees, ensuring that the organization attracts and retains top talent. In addition to recruitment, the HR Director will oversee benefits administration, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices. The role will also involve leading training development programs aimed at enhancing employee skills and knowledge, as well as managing programs related to performance management and employee development. This position requires a strategic thinker who can effectively communicate and influence leadership while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations and address grievances or issues.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including interviewing and onboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements in benefits administration.
  • Lead training development programs for employee skill enhancement.
  • Manage performance management and employee development programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, reporting, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, for presenting information to leadership.
  • Superior knowledge of HRIS systems and ability to learn new technology systems.
