About the position

We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our team based in San Antonio, Texas. This pivotal role involves providing strategic leadership and guidance to a robust Human Resources department that operates across multiple locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various departments including Payroll, Benefits Administration, Training & Development, Employee Concerns/Complaints, and Internal Recruiting. The Director will play a crucial role in shaping the HR strategy to align with the firm's overall objectives and culture, ensuring that the HR functions effectively support the business needs. In this role, you will oversee the firm's salary, payroll, and benefits administration, ensuring that all processes are compliant with relevant regulations. You will manage the onboarding and orientation of new employees, maintaining regular communication with them, and providing counseling as directed by Firm Management. Additionally, you will oversee the Human Resources Department in conducting post new-hire check-ins and updates, as well as employee exit interviews to gather valuable feedback and insights. You will coordinate communications with the Texas Workforce Commission and manage all labor relations activities, ensuring that the firm adheres to all legal requirements. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating and monitoring yearly performance evaluations firm-wide and collaborating with Firm Management on merit increases. You will ensure compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and oversee the management of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence (LOA) paperwork and administration. Reporting on metrics of the department and ensuring compliance will also be key aspects of your role, as you maintain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's culture and overall objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as an HR Director
  • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
  • Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode
  • Experience with Ceridian and Kronos Timekeeping System
  • Expertise in Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations and procedures
  • Experience working with C-Suite level executives
  • Demonstrated ability to handle Employee Relations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business needs
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions such as recruitment, employee engagement, and development
  • Exceptional understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficiency in HRIS and HR software
  • Strong ethics and reliability
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or related field.
