About the position

The HR Director at Medtronic will provide strategic HR support to the Mechanical Circulatory Support and Structural Heart and Aortic Operating Units. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business needs, focusing on culture, talent, and organization. The HR Director will partner with management to drive HR initiatives, ensuring effective delivery of HR services and fostering a culture of inclusion and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, drive and deploy business and human capital strategies across multiple businesses and functions.
  • Provide strategic direction to build upon ID&E action plans and foster a culture that drives inclusion, innovation, and engagement.
  • Lead Organizational Design and Organizational Transformation.
  • Apply organization consulting principles and data to diagnose business needs to achieve contracted outcomes.
  • Provide leadership for talent strategies (talent acquisition, retention, development) within their areas of responsibility.
  • Influence business outcomes through credible and authentic relationships with leaders and HR colleagues in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Develop and foster relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (HR Centers of Excellence and Functions).
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement strategies for workforce planning, acquisitions, organization changes, and HR-related technologies.
  • Assist functional leaders in ensuring effective organization structure, communication, problem analysis, and resolution.
  • Drive change management to ensure a constantly learning and growing organization.
  • Partner with management to ensure effective organization structure, design, and staffing models.
  • Provide counsel in the design and implementation of new organization structures and processes to increase overall organization effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with clients to implement regular Talent Reviews, Organization Reviews, Career Development Planning, Performance Reviews, and Organization Health assessments.
  • Partner with the COE Talent Acquisition Team to identify critical talent and build organization capabilities.
  • Support client groups in effectively identifying and planning for future talent needs and continually upgrading the talent brought into the organization.
  • Partner with the COE Employee Relations hub and leadership to anticipate, identify and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Act as internal consultant, identifying and partnering with others in addressing issues such as employee morale and turnover.
  • Partner with the COE Training & Development Teams to lead and implement the employee and leadership development strategy.
  • Partner with the COE to effectively implement and communicate Medtronic compensation and benefits programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of human resources experience (8+ years with an advanced degree) plus 7+ years of managerial experience.
