About the position

Summit K-12 is a fast-growing educational publisher of online curriculum for PreK-12 with distribution throughout the US. We are seeking an experienced HR Director who will play a critical role in shaping our company's future. As the HR Director, you will act as both a strategic partner and advisor to the CEO and leadership team while also managing day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is passionate about building and scaling HR processes that align with our mission and growth. In this position, you will be responsible for strategic HR leadership, partnering with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's goals and growth objectives. You will provide counsel on organizational design, talent management, and leadership development. Additionally, you will oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and payroll, ensuring that HR practices are efficient, scalable, and aligned with company values. Fostering a positive and inclusive company culture that reflects our core values will be a key focus. You will implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and professional development. Leading efforts to attract, recruit, and retain top talent will also be part of your responsibilities, collaborating with department heads to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and manage the hiring process. As a trusted advisor to employees and management, you will handle conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations with a focus on fairness and compliance. You will develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring the company remains up-to-date with employment laws and best practices. Driving the performance management process, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional development initiatives will also be part of your role. Finally, you will manage the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent while aligning with the company's budget and strategic goals. Championing DEI initiatives to ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace will be essential, promoting policies and practices that support equity and belonging.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's goals and growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree and/or HR certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Proven track record as a strategic HR partner with the ability to influence and guide leadership teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in developing and scaling HR processes and programs in a dynamic organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in HR software and systems; experience with HR analytics is a plus.
