About the position

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of Human Resources within the organization. This includes corporate HR support, benefits, compensation, employee relations, payroll compliance, and organizational development. The role involves establishing strategic HR initiatives, influencing employee behavior, and promoting a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to HR staff in areas of onboarding, hiring, training, payroll, benefits, and safety programs.
  • Maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and HR policies.
  • Advise and train managers on employment matters such as personnel issues, hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Create and implement standardized operating procedures for all HR aspects.
  • Lead efforts to resolve operational issues and manage HR initiatives across the organization.
  • Oversee administration of HR programs including compensation, benefits, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding employment.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining the employee handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Recommend and implement improved processes for HR programs to meet legal requirements.
  • Translate quantitative analysis into actionable business strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience in healthcare, with at least 5 years in senior-level management.
  • Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong HRIS experience, preferably Workday.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
