About the position

The HR Director at EPIC Brokers will lead and direct human resources programs and initiatives to ensure effective and efficient delivery aligned with business objectives and talent strategy. This role involves managing a local HR team, driving employee engagement, fostering an inclusive culture, and developing relationships with leadership. The HR Director will support talent acquisition and development, address employee relations issues, and ensure compliance with employment laws while being a direct HR partner to a designated group of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR guidance to leadership of their assigned population.
  • Manage a HR team to drive employee engagement and inclusive culture.
  • Coordinate with HR COEs in Merger & Acquisition processes, including HR Due Diligence and Integration.
  • Work with local leadership in the planning effort within business segments to ensure staff are trained to accomplish business objectives.
  • Ensure effective orientation and onboarding activities for all new employees.
  • Support talent strategy including talent acquisition, performance management and learning initiatives.
  • Assure wage administration policies are equitable and appropriate within the guidelines of corporate budget, marketplace considerations and job analysis.
  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations issues, progressive discipline, and documentation requirements to management.
  • Work with leadership to develop and monitor the organization's culture.
  • Promote positive employee relationships through communication and interpretation of HR Policies.
  • Educate and support local management on employee relations and employee performance issues.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience in human resources will also be considered.
  • A master's degree is a plus.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR and other HR related professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience managing the Human Resource Function.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of all federal, state and local employment laws and fair employment.
  • Workforce development and culture alignment experience.
  • Strong leadership and consulting skills with the ability to build trust, respect, and cooperation.
  • Relationship management, coaching, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing HR during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement strategies.
  • Experience in a hybrid work environment.
