Our North America Payroll Team plays a crucial role in supporting over 2,000 employees by ensuring that payroll processing is compliant with federal and state laws. This key HR role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll, as well as managing the Time and Labor Management system, Time Clock Plus (TCP). The team is dedicated to flawless execution of payrolls across North America, handling all related vendor, tax, accounting, and compliance items. In this position, you will analyze payroll issues, recommend corrective actions, and respond to employee payroll queries promptly. You will be tasked with identifying root causes of payroll discrepancies, improving processes, and effectively communicating changes. Continuous improvement and compliance are critical aspects of this role, as you will be accountable for payroll processes for both union and non-union employees across the US. You will document and review payroll processes for each site location, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with Diageo's internal controls. As a leader in this role, you will drive the continuous improvement agenda and manage vendor relationships, always seeking ways to enhance payroll processes. You will collaborate closely with US HR Business Partners and team leaders to identify improvement areas and implement solutions. Additionally, you will work with global partners to establish and improve workflows related to internal assignments and equity transactions. Your key outputs will include processing payroll for various employee populations, auditing payroll reports for accuracy, and managing equity transactions and vendor payments. This position requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years of payroll experience, preferably in a unionized environment, along with solid knowledge of US tax regulations and W2 reporting. Familiarity with payroll processing software and time management systems is essential, as is a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. You will need to be a self-starter with a strong customer focus, capable of implementing change and navigating ambiguity. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build relationships and influence across a large matrix organization. A degree or equivalent experience is required for this role.
