About the position

The HR Generalist position is a vital role within our organization, responsible for managing various human resources functions to ensure a smooth onboarding process and effective employee relations. The successful candidate will prepare necessary paperwork and schedules to facilitate the onboarding of new hires, ensuring they have an outstanding first-day experience. This role requires coordination with different departments to streamline the onboarding process and manage all administrative tasks related to new-hire orientations and exit interviews. In addition to onboarding, the HR Generalist will be responsible for data entry into human resources information systems (HRIS) and conducting audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. The HR Generalist will also provide dedicated HR advisory services to employees, addressing issues related to absence and health, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and other employee-relations matters. Another key responsibility of this role is to serve as the primary backup for payroll processing. This includes updating employee files, processing bonus and incentive pay, managing vacation and sick pay, handling expense reimbursements, validating hourly employee records, and processing benefits changes. The HR Generalist will assist in communicating, interpreting, and maintaining the employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, as well as contribute to policy development. Furthermore, the role involves assisting with employee relations, benefits management, onboarding and off-boarding processes, heavy recruitment, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven success in an HR department.
  • Resourceful mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft software.
  • Understanding of national laws and regulations related to employment.
