About the position

The HR Generalist 3 position at Tatitlek Government Services, Inc. is a pivotal role within the Human Resources department, responsible for designing, planning, and implementing various HR programs and policies. This includes key areas such as staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs. As a mid-level team member, the HR Generalist 3 will often work independently, applying a comprehensive understanding of human resources rules and procedures to perform a range of functions effectively. In this role, the HR Generalist will be tasked with preparing vacancy announcements and screening applications to ensure candidates meet the minimum requirements for various positions. They will also apply specified factors to rank applicants on an inventory or register used to fill related lower-grade positions. The HR Generalist will provide valuable information and advice on the use of automated HR processing and staffing systems, assisting staffing specialists and others by performing structured segments of their work or participating in projects or studies. Additionally, the HR Generalist will prepare summaries of information for further analysis and processing, respond to inquiries regarding HR services, and identify and resolve procedural issues. They will be responsible for entering data and processing documents required for appointments, including suitability checks, medical evaluations, drug testing, and other pre-employment requirements. The role also involves preparing various reports using personal computers and office automation software, as well as conducting HR Internet searches to support recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Apply an extensive body of human resources rules and procedures concerning recruitment and placement.
  • Prepare vacancy announcements and screen applications to determine if they meet minimum requirements.
  • Place applicants in rank order on an inventory or register used to fill lower-grade positions.
  • Provide information and advice on the use of automated HR processing and staffing systems.
  • Assist staffing specialists by performing structured segments of their work or participating in projects or studies.
  • Perform detailed reviews of records and other documentation.
  • Prepare summaries of information in preparation for further analysis and processing.
  • Respond to inquiries concerning HR services, procedures, alternatives, and requirements.
  • Identify and resolve procedural issues; enter data; process documents required for appointment including suitability, medical, drug testing, and miscellaneous pre-employment requirements.
  • Prepare a variety of reports using a personal computer and office automation software.
  • Conduct HR Internet searches.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen and possess at a minimum, a Secret security clearance, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Two years as an HR Generalist 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience may be substituted for education.
  • Professional certifications such as CGFM, CSA, or PMP are appropriate for some positions and can also substitute for a year of experience when applicable.
  • Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of office policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint) and solid Excel experience.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting skills is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently.
