About the position

Human Resources Generalist at Cliff Berry, Inc. is a pivotal role that offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual with a comprehensive background in HR functions, particularly in employee benefits and compliance. This position is based in the Fort Lauderdale office and is integral to supporting the organization by performing various HR-related duties. The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Director to administer the company's employee benefits and provide a broad range of HR services. This includes managing employment verification processing, records management, compliance activities, and support for health and welfare benefits. Additionally, the HR Generalist will serve as the backup for payroll processing, ensuring that all payroll-related tasks are handled accurately and timely when the primary payroll processor is unavailable. The role requires administering employee benefits programs operationally, which encompasses health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. The HR Generalist will coordinate open enrollment processes for employee benefits, providing administrative support to ensure a smooth and efficient enrollment period. They will also serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits packages, 401(k) inquiries, loans, and hardship requests, offering support to resolve questions and issues. Compliance is a critical aspect of this role, as the HR Generalist will maintain adherence to applicable laws and regulations while managing the operational aspects of health and welfare benefits. In addition to benefits administration, the HR Generalist will deliver new hire orientation to ensure that new employees are informed about CBI's employee benefits program, policies, and procedures. They will assist in the administration of the company's drug-free workplace program and handle compliance-driven activities related to HR operations. The role also supports recruitment processes by managing job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and pre-employment background screenings. The HR Generalist will provide guidance to employees on HR-related matters and company policies, supporting their understanding and adherence to organizational standards. This position requires a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence in HR service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs in an operational capacity, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes for employee benefits, providing administrative support to ensure a smooth and efficient enrollment period.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits packages, 401(k) inquiries, loans, and hardship requests, offering support to resolve questions and issues.
  • Administer health and welfare benefits by maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and handling operational aspects of these programs.
  • Deliver new hire orientation to new employees on CBI's employee benefits program, and policies and procedures to ensure they are informed and compliant with company expectations and procedures.
  • Assist in the administration of the company's drug-free workplace program, managing operational aspects to ensure adherence to legal requirements and company policies.
  • Serve as the backup for the company's payroll process by performing administrative tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness when the primary payroll processor is unavailable.
  • Assist in addressing payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies by providing support to resolve issues and maintain payroll accuracy.
  • Conduct employment verification processing in an administrative capacity, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and confidential HR documentation by performing administrative tasks to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Handle other compliance-driven activities related to HR operations, providing administrative support to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support recruitment processes by managing job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, pre-employment background screenings, drug and alcohol testing, MVRs (Motor Vehicle Records), and reference checks.
  • Follow and explain HR policies and procedures to employees to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements, providing support for policy interpretation and application.
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR-related matters and company policies to support their understanding and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Support employee relations activities by assisting in conflict resolution and performance management, offering administrative and operational support to address employee concerns.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive background in HR functions, including employee benefits and compliance.
  • Experience in administering employee benefits programs.
  • Ability to coordinate open enrollment processes for employee benefits.
  • Strong communication skills to serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits packages.
  • Knowledge of compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to health and welfare benefits.
  • Experience in delivering new hire orientation and training on employee benefits programs.
  • Ability to assist in the administration of drug-free workplace programs.
  • Experience in payroll processing and addressing payroll-related inquiries.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate employee records and confidential HR documentation.
