About the position

The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources department and the organization, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, workers' compensation administration, and compliance. This position requires fluency in Spanish and involves managing employee data, payroll processes, benefits administration, and fostering a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage HRIS for accurate employee data, including personal details, job specifics, compensation, and benefits enrollment.
  • Maintain precise employee records, including personnel files, benefits, and performance evaluations.
  • Aid in HR policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Submit supporting payroll information to accounting, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Assist in efficient and accurate timekeeping processes, maintaining attendance records and promptly addressing discrepancies.
  • Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Collaborate with brokers to resolve issues for effective administration of benefits.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates for various positions within the organization.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, paperwork, and HRIS setup.
  • Foster a constructive workplace atmosphere by implementing employee engagement programs and enhancing communication channels.
  • Respond promptly and confidentially to employee concerns and grievances.
  • Collaborate in identifying organizational training requirements and facilitate engaging training sessions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment laws and regulations to guarantee compliance.
  • Support audits and investigations concerning HR practices and policies, including annual reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Human Resources, with hands-on involvement in HR functions such as payroll & timekeeping, benefits administration, recruiting, and other related areas.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively support a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software (ADP WFN) and Google Docs or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Collaborative team player with the capability to work independently when needed.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
