About the position

Rover is seeking an HR Generalist II to join our People Team on a 6-9 month contract basis. This role is pivotal in executing a variety of duties within the Human Resources field, particularly in supporting our HR Business Partner and HR Operations team. The HR Generalist will act as a trusted advisor to US Frontline Operations employees, providing guidance and support in areas such as employee relations, performance management, and workplace accommodations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HR operations, a passion for fostering an inclusive employee culture, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for coaching and developing managers to enhance their capabilities, managing workplace accommodation requests, and addressing employee inquiries with professionalism and promptness. You will also support onboarding and offboarding activities, collaborate with the HR team to find creative solutions for HR issues, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The HR Generalist role serves as an excellent training ground for those aspiring to transition into an HR Business Partner role or delve deeper into HR programs and processes. Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to US Frontline Operations employees, providing guidance on employee relations and performance management.
  • Coach and develop managers to enhance their capabilities.
  • Manage Workplace Accommodations requests, partnering with vendors and management.
  • Address employee inquiries promptly and professionally, triaging questions within the HR and Benefits email alias.
  • Support employee and contractor onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to find proactive solutions for day-to-day HR issues.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws through programs and training.
  • Stay updated on Federal and State employment laws such as Title VII, FLSA, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required, including participation in global cross-team initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role covering broad areas of HR.
  • Expertise in handling employee relations issues, particularly in operations or call center environments.
  • Advanced experience with Leaves of Absence and Workplace Accommodations.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data presentation.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and commitment to core values.
  • Experience in project/program management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in GSuite and Workday preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Human Resources Professional Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM) preferred.
