About the position

The HR Generalist position at BrightEdge is a contract role based in Cleveland, OH, responsible for managing and overseeing all HR functions. This includes benefits administration, performance management, HR compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a comprehensive understanding of HR policies and procedures, while being comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire employee relations lifecycle, including handling harassment and discrimination complaints.
  • Establish investigation plans, conduct investigations, and recommend resolutions in collaboration with the Legal Team.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Analyze employee relations trends, metrics, and data to identify areas of improvement and make proactive recommendations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices are followed to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and education to employees and managers on HR compliance topics, including anti-discrimination and harassment prevention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HR processes and systems comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee surveys and conduct exit interviews to identify feedback trends and develop improvement plans.
  • Lead discussions to resolve employee issues and enhance the employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the HR Business Partner role or Employee Relations role with at least one year handling complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience in scaling companies during the growth stage.
  • Strong business acumen with a background in driving HR policies, processes, and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of principles & practices of HR, including employment law & compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and practical verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with UltiPro / UKG and Lever.
