About the position

The HR Generalist Coordinator I at Racine Unified School District plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support for all human resources functions, particularly in the absence of the HR Manager. This position is designed to offer leadership and assistance to both managers and employees across the organization, ensuring that HR policies and programs are effectively implemented and adhered to. The coordinator will be instrumental in identifying best practices and enhancing organizational efficiencies, while also mentoring and training line managers to accurately apply HR policies within their respective units. In this role, the HR Generalist Coordinator I will be responsible for creating and implementing internal HR processes and procedures that align with ARAMARK guidelines. Compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations is paramount, and the coordinator will develop and advise on innovative employee motivation and morale programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the coordinator must be able to listen to employee concerns and demonstrate outstanding analytical problem-solving abilities. The day-to-day responsibilities include managing HR functions such as recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, development, coaching, and handling disciplinary procedures. The coordinator will also assist in payroll processing, ensuring accurate data management by downloading information from Time Plus and addressing any issues with IT support. Additionally, the coordinator will notify department managers of any missed punches or errors and will be responsible for accurately inputting various data corrections related to employee compensation and benefits. The role may require working nights or weekends as needed, and adherence to ARAMARK policies and safety procedures is expected. Overall, this position is vital for fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that HR operations run smoothly within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement internal HR processes and procedures within ARAMARK guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and advise innovative employee motivation and morale programs.
  • Provide leadership and support to managers and employees throughout the organization.
  • Assist in identifying best practices and organizational efficiencies.
  • Mentor and train line managers to accurately apply human resource policies and programs within the unit.
  • Manage day-to-day HR functions including recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, development, coaching, incentives, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Assist in processing payroll and managing employee data corrections.
  • Notify department managers of employees missed punches and/or errors.
  • Accurately input data corrections, tip allocations, tip charges, housing, vacation, PTO, Holiday, salaried employee wages, etc.
  • Follow ARAMARK policies and procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared to work nights, weekends or as business needs dictate.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years in office setting and administrative functions, experience in HR preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to create, plan and manage creative HR strategies.
  • Knowledge of EEO laws and general HR policies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outstanding analytical problem-solving skills.
