About the position

The HR Generalist at Gibson Brands Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the company's human resources functions. This position is responsible for a wide range of professional HR tasks that align with the organization's policies and programs. The HR Generalist will manage benefit programs, employee relations, recruitment, and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). A key aspect of this role involves responding to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, as well as resolving employee concerns through effective employee relations skills and methodologies. In this position, the HR Generalist will implement HR initiatives, strategies, and policies that support the overall goals of the organization. This includes managing the full-cycle recruitment process for Gibson, which encompasses not only corporate roles but also positions within manufacturing facilities. The HR Generalist will also facilitate New Hire Orientation and lead the HR onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new employees into the company. Creating a positive work environment is essential, and the HR Generalist will work on building strong relationships with team members across all locations. This role will also involve providing support during open enrollment periods for benefits, maintaining knowledge of benefit plans, and assisting employees with their benefits-related questions. Additionally, the HR Generalist will support time-card entries for payroll as needed and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining accurate record-keeping and reporting practices. The HR Generalist will be an integral member of various project teams aimed at improving processes as the company evolves. This includes leading change management initiatives and process improvement projects. The role requires strong leadership in enhancing internal communications and fostering a supportive work environment. The HR Generalist will also leverage the strengths of current HR team members to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop training programs that maximize individual and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Implement HR initiatives (strategies and policies)
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment process for Gibson (including manufacturing facilities)
  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation and lead HR onboarding

  • Support benefits administration (open enrollment, maintenance, plan knowledge/support)
  • Handle employee relations and resolve employee concerns
  • Support time-card entries for payroll as needed
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and reporting
  • Adhere to record retention including document control and management
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
  • Participate in various project teams to improve processes
  • Strengthen internal communications with staff at all levels

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • SHRM designation preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
  • Strong teamwork and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
