About the position

As an HR Generalist at Delta Star, you will play a crucial role in supporting the recruitment process for both hourly and salary DSE employees. This position requires a partnership with the DSE Senior HR Business Partner to ensure that all DSE-specific HR tasks are executed effectively. Your responsibilities will encompass onboarding and orientation, performance management, employee relations, and managing the relationship with the union. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with HR best practices and regulations. In addition to recruitment, you will be responsible for maintaining employee records, assisting with performance evaluations, and addressing employee concerns in a timely and professional manner. Your role will also involve collaborating with various departments to ensure that HR initiatives align with the overall goals of the organization. You will need to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, while also maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all HR matters. Responsibilities

  • Partner with the DSE Senior HR Business Partner to manage DSE-specific HR tasks.
  • Oversee the recruitment process for hourly and salary DSE employees.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Assist in performance management processes and evaluations.
  • Address employee relations issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Manage the relationship with the union and ensure compliance with union agreements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align HR initiatives with company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the Human Resources field.
  • Experience in a Union environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations governing employment.
  • Understanding of HR best practices.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with a diverse group of employees.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships within all areas of the company.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Proven ability to work in a sensitive and confidential department.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Customer service approach with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
