The Human Resources Generalist at Ash Grove Cement plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day HR functions and ensuring the effective implementation of policies, procedures, and programs for employees. This position is integral to the organization, handling various HR areas including full life cycle recruiting for non-exempt positions and summer interns, staffing logistics, onboarding, training, and group events. The Generalist is responsible for developing and implementing procedures, managing internal communications, and overseeing third-party partners related to hiring and affirmative action reporting. As an ambassador of the company's values, the HR Generalist must effectively communicate, organize, and coordinate administrative functions to foster a positive work environment. In this role, the HR Generalist will promote and adhere to all plant safety guidelines while also managing additional duties assigned by the supervisor. Responsibilities include scheduling interviews, orientations, and training sessions, completing personnel transactions, and maintaining associated records. The Generalist will assist in creating and maintaining HR forms and documents, answer basic employee inquiries regarding HR policies, and support payroll processing. Furthermore, the role involves collecting and analyzing internal and external information to compare the organization's HR practices with prevailing market standards. The HR Generalist will provide administrative support for planning and coordinating training, employee events, annual meetings, and other related activities. This includes managing meetings, supporting project teams, assisting with onsite drug testing, and maintaining the company store. The position also requires assisting with internal communications, ensuring that all communications are visually appealing and adhere to brand standards. The Generalist will help design and deliver training related to process improvements, change management, new technology, and employee engagement as requested by the supervisor. Additionally, maintaining personnel files, medical files, I-9, and FMLA files for all terminated employees is essential, ensuring compliance with the records retention policy. The HR Generalist will also attend professional and industry association meetings, educational workshops, and seminars to stay current on new ideas, practices, and procedures in the HR field.
