About the position

The HR Generalist I (Benefits) at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is responsible for benefits administration and various human resource functions. This entry-level position supports the organization by implementing HR programs and policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and assisting with employee wellness initiatives. The role is crucial in maintaining the company's commitment to supporting the mission of the warfighter by delivering quality HR services.

Responsibilities

• Supports the organization by implementing and administering human resources programs or policies.
• Implements human resources programs by providing services including recruiting, staffing, and administration of compensation and benefits programs.
• Completes personnel transactions and maintains associated records.
• Collects and analyzes internal and external information to compare HR practices to market standards.
• Ensures compliance with applicable labor laws or regulations.
• Supports the administration of benefits programs such as life, health & wellness, and disability insurance.
• Assists with wellness programs to support employees' wellbeing.
• Identifies and incorporates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in benefits programs.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree required.
• 0-3 years prior experience relevant to the position's functional area.
• Knowledge of human resources practices and procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and make decisions.
