About the position

ORIX Corporation USA is seeking a versatile and dynamic HR Generalist II who specializes in compliance and global mobility management. This role is positioned under the guidance of the HR Operations Manager and requires a keen attention to detail along with a broad skill set in HR practices. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing both domestic and international relocations, ensuring compliance across HR operations, and enhancing organizational processes. The HR Generalist II will be responsible for conducting regular audits to identify process gaps or areas of improvement, proposing and implementing solutions to mitigate risks, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. The role also involves taking charge of reviewing, updating, and creating HR Operations Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), managing a wide range of required documentation, and providing essential support across the entire employee lifecycle, including offboarding processes and unemployment claim responses. In addition, the HR Generalist II will leverage the Workday case management system to respond to escalated employee inquiries, optimize HR processes, and contribute to the development and training of the workforce. The position also includes collaborating with external vendors to efficiently manage domestic and international relocations, working closely with legal counsel to process sponsorship applications and petitions, and supporting visa renewal processes and onboarding for international hires and transfers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits to identify process gaps or areas of improvement.
  • Propose and implement solutions to mitigate risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Review, update, and create HR Operations Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage documentation, including labor law posters and employee notices, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Provide support across the entire employee lifecycle, including offboarding processes and unemployment claim responses.
  • Respond to escalated employee inquiries using the Workday case management system, identifying issues and researching solutions.
  • Optimize HR processes and contribute to employee development and training.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to manage domestic and international relocations.
  • Work closely with legal counsel to process sponsorship applications and petitions, and support visa renewal processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in HR program maintenance and execution, with a strong emphasis on audit and compliance.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems or software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in daily activities.
  • Strong passion for learning and an ability to quickly apply new concepts to resolve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with HRIS, preferably Workday.
  • Experience with DocuSign.
  • Prior experience in financial services or a related industry.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources, supporting onboarding, project support, and customer service.
  • Relevant experience in HR operations, particularly in compliance, global mobility, or related areas.
