About the position

Amsted Automotive Group, located in Taylor, MI, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This full-time position is essential for managing all daily HR activities at the plant, with a primary focus on serving our hourly employee base. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to both plant employees and leadership, ensuring that employee concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. In this role, you will work closely with plant management to foster an injury-free workplace by developing and executing safety objectives that align with both plant and corporate standards. You will be responsible for applying all human resource policies and programs related to employment law, employee health and safety, staffing, wage and salary compensation, benefits, and worker's compensation. Collaborating with HR Managers, you will devise strategies to recruit and attract top talent while also focusing on employee retention. Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of plant hourly recruitment, which encompasses internal postings, advertising, applicant tracking, screening, interviewing, conducting pre-employment screens, issuing offer letters, and overseeing the onboarding process. Additionally, you will administer benefits for hourly personnel and coordinate education and training programs, maintaining accurate training and competency records. You will also work closely with the Quality function to ensure compliance with IATF standards in relevant areas. Maintaining and digitizing hourly employee personnel records will be part of your duties, as well as managing and improving communication channels for plant hourly employees. You will ensure effective employee relations in matters of supervision, discipline, performance management, motivation, and discharge, while promoting a non-union environment. Collaborating with the global HR team, you will implement organizational learning and employee development solutions, actively participating in the talent development process for your own personal growth. Furthermore, you will drive plant activities related to the annual hourly evaluation and merit increase process, supporting the plant team in achieving their goals and objectives. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with plant management to drive an injury-free workplace through the development and execution of safety objectives.
