About the position

The HR Generalist I position at Parker Hannifin Corporation is a full-time role that provides essential HR support to the Division in various functional areas. This includes managing the PeopleSoft system, conducting annual wage reviews, maintaining personnel records, and handling employee relations. The role also involves benefits administration, ensuring compliance with AAP/EEO regulations, and preparing monthly reports. The HR Generalist will be responsible for interviewing candidates and managing special projects as assigned. This position is office-based, requiring a proactive approach to support the Division HR Manager and collaborate with other HR team members. In this role, the HR Generalist will collect, coordinate, and prepare correspondence and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. They will maintain the PeopleSoft database, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee information. The HR Generalist will also post job positions to various internal and external job search outlets, conduct initial resume reviews, and communicate with applicants. Additionally, they will investigate and respond to routine questions or issues raised by managers and team members, explaining and administering company policies and procedures, which may include participation in new employee orientation. The HR Generalist will develop and maintain Equal Employment Opportunity programs across multiple centers and administer entries into the Learning Management System (LMS). They will assist other HR team members in preparing for the merit review process and perform filing duties according to record retention rules, auditing other centers for accuracy. The role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate or conduct annual training meetings as required. There may also be travel to IPD locations to present benefit changes during the annual Open Enrollment and conduct HR audits or training as needed. The HR Generalist will actively support the Corporate Win Strategy and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Division HR Manager.
  • Collect, coordinate and prepare correspondence and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Maintain PeopleSoft database ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee information.
  • Post positions to internal and external job search outlets; accept and conduct initial review of resumes; some contact with applicants.
  • Investigate and respond to routine questions or issues by managers and team members.
  • Explain and administer company policies and procedures, may include participation in new employee orientation.
  • Develop and maintain Equal Employment Opportunity programs for multiple centers.
  • Administer and log entries into Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Assist other HR team members in preparing for merit review process.
  • Perform filing duties according to record retention rules and audit other centers for accuracy.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Work independently to complete multiple priorities in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct annual ethics, health care, safety or other training meetings as required.
  • May travel to IPD's locations to present benefit changes during annual Open Enrollment and conduct HR audits or training as needed.
  • May include maintaining attendance records and awards.
  • Actively support the Corporate Win Strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, psychology, business or closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of administration experience.
  • Computer skills required, including PeopleSoft system and Microsoft suite including PowerPoint.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
