About the position

As an HR Generalist at Levy, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources function to meet the needs of both the business and our associates. Your primary responsibilities will include managing associate relations, ensuring compliance with HR legal requirements, and developing and revising HR policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for implementing associate engagement initiatives, monitoring performance and merit increases, and overseeing the hiring process for non-exempt associates. Your role will require you to objectively coach associates and management through complex issues, provide guidance on disciplinary actions, and assist with on-site investigations. Additionally, you will maintain and coordinate associate recognition programs and ensure compliance with all federal and state laws. You will regularly review HR activity reports and support the internal customer survey and associate engagement survey interpretation process. Attending department manager meetings to increase HR visibility and conducting classroom training will also be part of your responsibilities. As a diversity champion, you will lead corporate diversity activities, including diversity recruiting and retention goals. You will assist in creating Personal Development Plans for associates and participate in the Annual Performance Appraisal process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Company HR related policies are applied consistently.
  • Objectively coach associates and management through complex and difficult issues.
  • Provide guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Assist with on-site investigations.
  • Oversee MyOpportunity for hourly recruitment and onboarding.
  • Maintain and coordinate associate recognition programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws.
  • Regularly run and/or review HR activity reports.
  • Support internal customer survey and associate engagement survey interpretation/feedback process.
  • Attend department manager meetings to increase HR visibility, conduct classroom training, and implement HR initiatives.
  • Review requests for pay increases or other status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency.
  • Process status change forms.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and present HR related topics and training.
  • Act as the diversity champion by leading assigned tasks and corporate diversity activities.
  • Assist in the creation of Personal Development Plans for associates.
  • Participate in the Annual Performance Appraisal process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR designation strongly preferred.
  • Three plus years human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.
  • HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
  • Previous experience in a centralized HR environment, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
  • Training certification a plus (i.e. Zenger-Miller, Stephen Covey, etc.).
