About the position

The HR Generalist Lead at the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations while providing guidance and support to a team of HR professionals. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution in various HR functions, including hiring, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have a solid understanding of HR practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations and serve as a key resource for the HR team.
  • Coordinate and manage hiring program activities, including job openings and interviewing.
  • Design and deliver employee forums and new employee orientation.
  • Conduct quality reviews of HR programs and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide information and advice on HR policies and procedures to employees and management.
  • Consult with management and governmental agencies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Research and resolve HR issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for HR professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
  • 3 years of human resources-related experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
