About the position

Chartwells Higher Education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio is dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences that fuel the minds and bodies of our university community. As an HR Generalist, your primary focus will be to support Human Resources functions that meet both the needs of the business and our associates. This role is crucial in leading hourly hiring initiatives, scheduling interviews, onboarding new hires, and conducting new hire orientations. You will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring that all company HR policies are applied consistently and in compliance with federal and state laws. In this position, you will regularly run and review HR activity reports, attend department manager meetings, and conduct classroom training sessions. You will also prepare, coordinate, and present HR-related topics and training sessions. Additionally, you will review requests for pay increases or other status changes to ensure internal equity and consistency, process status change forms, and participate in the Annual Performance Appraisal process. This role requires strong communication and presentation skills, as you will be responding to common HR inquiries from employees and providing assistance with the implementation of HR initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Oversees hourly recruitment and onboarding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Two plus years human resources generalist experience required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience responding to common HR inquiries from employees.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills required.
