The HR Generalist - Packaging will play a crucial role in the administration of human resources programs and recruiting efforts within the organization. This position is responsible for managing various HR functions including compensation, benefits, training, talent management, onboarding, and offboarding. The HR Generalist will serve as a point of contact for employees regarding employment-related inquiries, addressing questions related to performance, pay, benefits, attendance, and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) policies. Additionally, the HR Generalist will enforce company policies, including attendance, vacation, and progressive discipline, ensuring compliance and consistency across the organization. In terms of recruiting, the HR Generalist will be tasked with sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates to fill organizational roles. This includes consulting with hiring managers to understand the specific roles to be filled and the profiles of ideal candidates. The HR Generalist will review and assess applicants' education, experience, training, and other qualifications, verifying employment eligibility and gathering necessary paperwork. They will also perform reference and background checks, schedule interviews, and coordinate interviewers or panels. The role involves testing and scoring applicants, gathering feedback from interviewers, and informing candidates about job duties, responsibilities, work schedules, compensation, benefits packages, and career advancement opportunities. The HR Generalist will prepare and extend job offers and notify applicants of their rejection when necessary. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for developing and updating job descriptions and specifications, performing job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives, and leading the company's internship program. They will actively participate in special projects within the human resources function as needed and perform benefits administration, which includes enrolling new hires, answering questions, and communicating benefits information to employees. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and contribute to the continuous improvement efforts of the Human Resources function.
