About the position

East West Manufacturing is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting our vision of making the world a better place—cleaner, safer, healthier, and smarter. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR duties, including recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits education, employee relations, employee engagement, and compliance. This position requires a proactive individual who can partner with business leaders to provide strategic HR expertise that supports both the business and its employees. As an advocate for unique and outstanding employee experiences, the HR Generalist will play a crucial role in fostering a collaborative culture within the organization. In the staffing aspect, the HR Generalist will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding quality new hires. This includes educating managers on necessary processes and best practices related to hiring, posting jobs, sourcing candidates, and conducting interviews. The role also involves maintaining a pool of quality candidates to fill the talent pipeline, particularly focusing on production staff as the company grows. The HR Generalist will complete pre-employment processes, new hire paperwork, and ensure an engaging onboarding experience for new employees. Employee engagement is another critical responsibility of this role. The HR Generalist will actively foster positive employee relations and lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement. Acting as a culture champion, the individual will enthusiastically propagate the company's mission and core values, support the business leadership team, and field and resolve employee inquiries. Additionally, the HR Generalist will train and advise supervisors on best practices for employee relations. Training is also a key component of this position. The HR Generalist will facilitate supervisory and compliance training, track and monitor employee participation, and conduct impactful training related to HR topics such as benefit offerings and coaching. Partnering with managers to identify training needs and coordinate cross-training will be essential. Compliance is a vital aspect of the HR Generalist's role. The individual will maintain compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This includes managing leave processes, completing necessary regulatory reporting, and continually reviewing internal HR processes to ensure business effectiveness and compliance. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will ensure that HR programs such as payroll, benefits, and safety are administered properly, educating employees on program offerings and assisting with inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and onboard quality new hires, educating managers on necessary processes and best practices related to hiring.
  • Post jobs, source candidates, and conduct interviews for available positions.
  • Maintain a pool of quality candidates to fill the talent pipeline, focusing on production staff.

  • Manage leave processes, including FMLA and ADA, and complete necessary regulatory reporting.
  • Review internal HR processes to ensure business effectiveness and compliance.
  • Ensure HR programs such as payroll, benefits, and safety are administered properly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
