About the position

The HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist position at a large manufacturing company in Sacramento involves managing payroll processes, employee benefits, and compliance with employment laws. The role requires a bilingual candidate fluent in English and Spanish, with a strong background in HR and payroll management. This is a full-time, onsite direct hire position focused on enhancing workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll in ADP Work Force Now and check timesheets for accuracy.
  • Handle direct deposit, garnishment, retirement contributions, and reimbursements.
  • Oversee administration of employee benefits, compensation, and payroll.
  • Manage overall workers compensation processes through completion.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Direct involvement in full cycle recruitment processes, onboarding, training, and development programs.
  • Manage employee relations and provide guidance on HR policies and employment law.
  • Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Lead the performance management process, including goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Drive organizational change initiatives and provide guidance on workforce planning.
  • Collaborate with safety team to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English/Spanish - REQUIRED
  • HR Experience and HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of progressive HR and payroll experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in ADP Payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manufacturing is a strong plus.
