About the position

The HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering a workplace culture based on honesty, innovation, and transparency. This position supports various HR functions, including employee relations, payroll, talent acquisition, training, and compliance, while promoting the core values of GT Solutions. Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service with an emphasis on taking care of the employee.
  • Ensure hiring activities support operational needs and comply with company policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Oversee new employee onboarding, orientation, and training.
  • Provide guidance to management related to discipline, documentation of performance issues, company policies and procedure, and state/federal regulations.
  • Facilitate communication between employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Provide support, guidance, and assistance to supervisors and managers in interpreting, applying, and ensuring compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Consult and coordinate with the appropriate human resource or applicable personnel for guidance and/or assistance.
  • Facilitate 'Light Duty/Return to Work' program and oversee processing of workers compensation claims.
  • Maintain and process semi-monthly payroll to include tracking hours, calculating prevailing wage, and ensuring all deductions are processed correctly.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent education, training, and/or experience demonstrating knowledge of human resource practices.
  • At least two (2) years in a human resource position with progressive responsibility in areas such as workers compensation, safety, employment law, etc.
  • Experience processing payroll with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience conducting interviews; researching and analyzing findings and providing recommendations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) software.
