About the position

The HR Generalist/Recruiter at Fruit Of The Earth is a pivotal role that combines strong human resources experience with a focus on recruitment. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working with people and can project a professional demeanor in all interactions. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the HR department. The HR Generalist/Recruiter will be responsible for creating and implementing recruitment plans, onboarding new employees, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. This role also involves close collaboration with all members of the HR team to foster a positive work environment and support the overall goals of the organization. In this role, the HR Generalist/Recruiter will prepare recruitment lists and post job openings on platforms such as Indeed and Paycom. They will screen applicants to identify quality candidates, conduct phone interviews, and schedule in-person interviews. Additionally, the HR Generalist/Recruiter will generate official internal documents, including offer letters and pay adjustments, and create onboarding plans to educate new hires about HR policies and internal procedures. They will coordinate new hire orientations in collaboration with Safety and HR, ensuring that all onboarding and offboarding tasks are tracked and completed efficiently. The HR Generalist/Recruiter will also maintain employee data in relevant computer systems, assist the Benefits Coordinator during annual open enrollment, and respond to benefits-related inquiries. They will be responsible for posting new employee announcements on the company intranet and setting up follow-up reminders for new hires at 60 and 90 days. This role requires a proactive approach to managing employee referral bonuses and coordinating payments accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation needs/projections
  • Preparing recruitment lists and posting jobs using Indeed and Paycom
  • Screening applicants for quality candidates, conducting phone screens, and scheduling interviews
  • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters and pay adjustments
  • Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired team members on HR policies and procedures
  • Coordinating new hire orientation with Safety and HR
  • Tracking all onboarding/offboarding tasks
  • Entering new team member information into Paycom onboarding
  • Assisting the Benefits Coordinator during annual open enrollment and answering benefits questions
  • Maintaining employee data information in relevant computer systems
  • Posting new employee announcements on the company intranet
  • Setting up 60/90-day new hire follow-up reminders in Outlook
  • Following up on Employee Referral Bonus Awards and coordinating payment

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of related HR experience
  • Strong interest in gaining additional knowledge in HR
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong time management and planning skills
  • Problem-solving and creative solutions skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team
  • PHR or SPHR certification from SHRM
