About the position

At OneDigital, we are on a mission to help people do their best work and live their best lives. The Human Resources and Payroll Generalist will manage and administer HR, Payroll, and Benefits for multiple clients, including employee health and welfare, retirement plans, and leaves of absences. This role involves managing multi-state payrolls and HRIS components within various human capital management platforms. The Generalist will provide guidance to management and employees regarding client-specific policies and procedures, interpret existing policies, and develop operational improvements for HR, Payroll, and Benefits Administration. This position serves as key support for Managers and above related to HR and Payroll Services across multiple clients. The Generalist will serve as the primary resource for employees on and off-site regarding HR, Payroll, and Benefits, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. They will manage critical relationships with client representatives, coordinate client meetings, and interpret client contracts while managing billable work. The role also includes managing the pre-hire process, onboarding candidates, and administering health and welfare plans as well as retirement plans. The Generalist will be responsible for payroll services, including managing multi-state payroll, auditing timekeeping records, and preparing government reports related to EEO and AAP compliance. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple client needs simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer HR, Payroll, and Benefits for multiple clients.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employees regarding HR, Payroll, and Benefits compliance.
  • Manage multi-state payrolls and HRIS components within various platforms.
  • Provide guidance to management and employees on client-specific policies and procedures.
  • Interpret client contracts and manage billable work, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate client meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and reports.
  • Manage the pre-hire process, including background checks and onboarding.
  • Administer health and welfare plans and retirement plans, including enrollments and terminations.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and manage termination processes.
  • Prepare government reports related to EEO and AAP compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years of HR, Payroll, and Benefits experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and HRIS understanding.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong work ethics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications related to HR, Payroll, and Benefits (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with state and federal regulations (COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, etc.).
  • Commitment to continued learning and development.
