The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in assisting with various HR-related duties at a professional level, working closely with management to support multiple job sites and locations. This position is integral to the organization, focusing on enhancing the employee experience and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of functions including benefits administration, employee relations, monthly and annual reporting, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist will administer various human resource plans and procedures for all personnel within the organization. This includes assisting in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, guiding management, and preparing and maintaining the employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. The role also involves participating in the development of departmental goals and objectives, recommending new approaches and policies to improve departmental efficiency and service delivery. In addition, the HR Generalist will assist in managing benefits administration for all employees, from hire to retirement, and will work closely with the Benefits Administrator on leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and medical leave requirements. The position requires handling employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and conducting exit interviews. The HR Generalist will also maintain human resource information system records, personnel files, and compile reports from the database. This role requires a proactive approach to employee relations, fostering a positive teamwork environment, and regularly engaging with managers and employees to resolve issues and protect company assets. The HR Generalist will also participate in job site visits and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with the AbilityOne program, maintaining the required employee ratio per compliance guidelines. Travel is expected to be 15-20% of the time to out-of-state site locations, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in this role.
