About the position

The HR Generalist - Talent Acquisition at Columbia River Mental Health Services is responsible for performing a variety of human resource-related duties at a professional level, focusing primarily on recruitment and onboarding processes. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the agency's mission to provide comprehensive behavioral health and recovery services by ensuring that the organization attracts and retains qualified personnel. The HR Generalist will also handle policy administration, employee relations, and compliance with HR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, screens, interviews, and assists managers in the selection process for agency-wide job openings.
  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meets with managers to discuss needs.
  • Arranges and schedules phone and in-person interviews by coordinating schedules.
  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviews applicants on a consistent set of qualifications.
  • Conducts new-hire process and sets up personnel files.
  • Coordinates pre-employment background screening.
  • Ensures data integrity in HRIS (UltiPro) system and maintains daily updates.
  • Performs extensive file auditing and maintains personnel and medical/personal files.
  • Answers employee requests and questions per agency and HR Department policies and procedures.
  • Assists with exit interviews and prepares reports for Senior Management addressing corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains HRIS System records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Cross-trains in the completion and assists with administration of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Participates in working groups and committees, taking the lead in the absence of the Director of Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Administration, or Management preferred.
  • Two years of human resource/recruiting experience preferred.
  • PHR and leadership experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in behavioral health or non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems, particularly UltiPro.
