About the position

The HR Generalist II at Nicklaus Children's Hospital will play a crucial role in the administration of Talent Management and Employee Relations (TM&E) operations. This position involves both administrative and strategic responsibilities, working closely with the Director to address inquiries from leaders and employees. The HR Generalist II will be instrumental in analyzing HR data, reporting on key metrics such as turnover rates, employee engagement, and exit interviews, and presenting these findings to HR management and department leadership. This role is designed to enhance the employee life-cycle experience, focusing on hiring, engagement, and retention strategies. In addition to data analysis, the HR Generalist II will assist with recruitment activities, ensuring high-quality service to both internal and external customers. This includes leading the sourcing, interviewing, placement, and onboarding processes for new employees and volunteers. The position also requires collaboration with various departments to facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring a seamless and exceptional first-day experience for new team members. The HR Generalist will respond to employee and volunteer concerns, providing coaching and support to resolve challenges effectively. The role demands a proactive approach to HR consultation, addressing matters related to employee relations, recruitment, and engagement. The HR Generalist II will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for leaders regarding effective recruitment practices, orientation processes, and compensation strategies. Additionally, the position requires providing basic benefits information to candidates and supporting departmental outcomes and patient family satisfaction through efficient HR service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the administration of day-to-day operations of TM&E.
  • Work closely with the Director on leader and employee inquiries.
  • Analyze HR data by creating and running reports on turnover, employee engagement, and exit interviews.
  • Present trend and theme analysis to HR management and department leadership.
  • Assist in HR responsibilities related to employee relations, engagement, HRIS, benefits, and recruitment as assigned.
  • Collaborate in launching and facilitating new hire orientation.
  • Respond to employee and volunteer concerns, providing coaching and support for resolution.
  • Lead and support the sourcing, interviewing, placement, and onboarding of employees and volunteers.
  • Provide effective HR consultation regarding employee relations, recruitment, and engagement matters.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to leaders on recruitment, hiring, and compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Human Resources (Recruitment, Generalist, HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, etc.) or equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset.
  • Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities and take initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in HR or MBA is a plus.
  • Additional HR training or experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus.
