About the position

The Temporary HR Generalist role at Polynesian Adventure Tours is designed to provide comprehensive support to the Human Resources team for a period of three months. This position is crucial for maintaining seamless HR operations and ensuring exceptional service within the dynamic transportation environment of the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for human resources, contributing to various HR functions including recruitment, system management, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates for transportation and administrative roles.
  • Leverage online platforms and professional networks to attract top talent.
  • Coordinate staffing solutions for seasonal needs, such as temporary drivers and support staff.
  • Monitor hiring trends and recommend proactive solutions to meet workforce demands.
  • Maintain and update HR systems, ensuring accuracy in employee records and compliance with policies.
  • Serve as the department's expert for HR technologies, managing system updates and troubleshooting issues.
  • Train new system users and generate routine and ad-hoc reports to support decision-making.
  • Identify and implement improvements to HR policies, processes, and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
  • Conduct audits of recruitment and employee data to maintain data integrity.
  • Plan and coordinate department activities, events, and training sessions.
  • Support compliance with employment testing programs and manage logistics for HR initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the HR department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of HR or administrative experience, preferably in a fast-paced or large organization.
  • Familiarity with transportation industry hiring practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR principles.
  • Knowledge of Dayforce or ADP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • High level of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with transportation industry hiring practices is a plus.
