About the position

The People Services Generalist is a key member of the People Services department at WorldSprings, responsible for providing comprehensive support across various HR functions. This role is essential in ensuring a positive and inclusive workplace culture while actively engaging with team members and managers on people-related matters. The Generalist will handle full-cycle recruitment, which includes identifying, attracting, screening, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and onboarding employees. This position plays a vital role in executing people strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with the organization's goals. In addition to recruitment, the People Services Generalist will serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant labor laws. The role also involves collaborating with department managers to identify training and development needs, administering performance appraisal processes, and managing employee benefits programs. The Generalist will maintain accurate HR records, prepare reports, and assist in HR audits, ensuring compliance with labor laws and HR best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, along with excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail. They will be expected to promote continuous learning and professional growth within the organization, contributing to a supportive and effective work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidate qualifications to ensure a strong fit for the organization.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Extend job offers and negotiate terms of employment.
  • Manage the candidate's experience and provide timely communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to company policy and relevant labor laws by addressing and resolving workplace issues.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify training and development needs.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training programs and initiatives.
  • Administer performance appraisal processes and provide guidance to managers and employees.
  • Participate in performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices to ensure company compliance.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, prepare reports, and assist in HR audits.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and leave policies.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and collaborate with benefit providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 3 - 5 years of human resource/people services management experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
