As an HR Generalist, you will operate under general supervision and serve as the primary point of contact for human resources matters at the Wausau, WI and Saskatoon, SK facilities. This role involves providing support to site employees and managers for their HR needs, requests, and projects, and appropriately directing specialized requests to other HR Representatives based on their area of expertise. You will act as a key member of the sites' leadership teams to ensure alignment and integration of HR strategies and initiatives with site goals and objectives. Partnering with site hiring managers during the talent acquisition process, you will participate in interviews and selection decisions. You will also provide guidance to client groups to plan effective onboarding and inboarding for new and transferring employees, conduct new employee orientation, and guide management through employee offboarding, coordinating the exit interview process for assigned sites and communicating trends to management. In addition, you will offer day-to-day performance management guidance to managers at assigned sites, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions. You will recommend employee and team development activities and programs, facilitating team development sessions in collaboration with the Learning, Leadership & Culture team. Working closely with management and employees at assigned sites, you will improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention, advising management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. You will also communicate, enforce, and interpret company policies, collaborating within the Global & Regional People & Organization team to support tasks and projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Communicate, enforce, and interpret company policies.
  • Collaborate within the Global & Regional People & Organization team to support tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy are essential.
  • Ability to make decisions and exhibit sound and accurate judgment to make timely decisions.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources industry trends and employment legislation (federal, state and case law).
  • Must be able to embrace a sense of urgency, innovation, and resourcefulness required in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to handle changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven self-starter, capable of carrying projects through to completion.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a Business field with one to three years of Human Resources experience.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred as well as HR experience in Canada.
