About the position

The HR Generalist with Payroll and Benefits Experience is responsible for managing various human resource functions, including compliance tracking, employee onboarding, and benefits administration. This role requires a strong understanding of HR practices, federal and state regulations, and the ability to handle employee inquiries effectively. The HR Generalist will also be involved in maintaining HRIS systems and generating reports to support HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional HR experience in a generalist capacity.
  • HRIS experience - application implementation is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal/local labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to generate HR reporting and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Human resources management experience of 5 years (Preferred)
