About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Indiana University will provide comprehensive HR support across various departments, including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Chancellor's Office, Athletics, and Community Engagement. This role involves managing recruitment processes, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and fostering a positive work environment while supporting the university's mission of academic and research excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with unit administrators on talent acquisition and performance management.
  • Serve as the HR representative for all employees in the division.
  • Manage recruitment processes for staff and faculty, including posting positions and screening candidates.
  • Maintain HR records and develop related reports to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Educate search committees on university hiring processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate the hiring, onboarding, and talent management processes for the division.
  • Assist in securing budget approval for searches with the Fiscal Officer.
  • Create offer letters and provide necessary information to candidates.
  • Manage annual staff performance appraisals and HR document processing.
  • Run HR-related reports to ensure policy compliance and represent the unit on HR committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources policies and federal/state employment law.
  • Ability to influence internal and external constituents.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP/PHR certification preferred within one year of hire.
  • Related work experience in HR.
