About the position

Victory Forward Solutions is seeking an HR Generalist to support the HR Manager in various human resources functions. This role is crucial in ensuring that the HR department adheres to best practices in managing human capital and compliance. The HR Generalist will be responsible for onboarding new staff, processing payroll, and organizing HR tasks effectively. The position requires a proactive approach to handling personnel-related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and employee leaves of absence. In this role, you will maintain accurate records for each employee, including personal information, weekly earnings, absences, and performance reports. You will also be the point of contact for employees and job applicants, answering questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and company policies. Conducting new hire orientations and preparing necessary documentation will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will compile reports and documents related to personnel activities and assist in the interview process for job applicants. The HR Generalist will also be tasked with composing correspondence, preparing presentations, and analyzing information using Google Suite programs. Protecting the integrity of confidential information is paramount, and you will be expected to handle all matters with professionalism and discretion. This position is temp to hire, with a 90-day evaluation period, and requires a flexible schedule, including the possibility of working weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Manager in onboarding new staff and planning HR tasks.
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel-related documentation.
  • Record data for each employee, including personal information and performance reports.
  • Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, and benefits.
  • Prepare and conduct new hire orientations.
  • Examine employee files to provide information for personnel actions.
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
  • Interview job applicants to obtain and verify information.
  • Compose correspondence and prepare presentations using Google Suite.
  • Protect the integrity of confidential information in all matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum 3 years).
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of multi-state HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and talent management systems (ADP, Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to adapt to various personalities and levels of personnel.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google email and applications, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using a Mac or other Apple products.
