About the position

GeoStabilization International® (GSI) is seeking an HR Generalist to join our People & Talent team. This operational role is pivotal in supporting line managers throughout the employee lifecycle, which includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Generalist will work closely with the Division P&T Business Partner and will be part of a small, agile team that values collaboration and autonomous decision-making. The position is based at our corporate headquarters in Westminster, Colorado, where the culture is fast-paced and focused on continuous improvement and growth. In this role, the HR Generalist will be responsible for administering performance management processes, facilitating employee engagement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. The individual will also support managers in addressing employee relations issues, conduct exit interviews, and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS. The HR Generalist will play a key role in onboarding new employees, ensuring that their integration into the company is smooth and effective. Additionally, the position may involve providing representation during Collective Bargaining and assisting with Mergers & Acquisitions to ensure seamless integration of HR processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage a variety of HR activities and contribute to a positive workplace culture. The work environment is hybrid, allowing for remote work on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Responsibilities

  • Administer performance management annual reviews.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives by coordinating data collection and action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and union labor laws.
  • Collaborate with People & Talent Total Rewards and Business Partners on employee issues.
  • Support Access Ltd initiatives, training, and events.
  • Provide grievance response and investigation per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Advise managers on employee relations issues and performance management boundaries.
  • Partner with managers to ensure accurate onboarding of new employees and conduct periodic check-ins.
  • Conduct exit interviews and capture areas of opportunity for management.
  • Maintain HRIS data and continuously improve practices and procedures.
  • Process onboarding and termination data entries.
  • Advise managers on company policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with company resources on employee safety and compliance (OSHA).
  • Represent the company during Collective Bargaining as needed.
  • Assist with Mergers & Acquisitions by evaluating processes and ensuring integration milestones are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant HR experience with a union employer or 5 years with a non-union employer.
  • Experience managing a broad range of HR activities across the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience in a matrixed organization preferred.
  • Ability to manage and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and management of confidential data.
  • Strong customer service orientation and consultative skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and safety requirements.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems.
  • High capacity to learn quickly and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
