About the position

The HR Generalist at ASC Engineered Solutions plays a pivotal role in the Human Resource Department located in Columbia, PA. This position is designed for a versatile and forward-thinking HR professional who is passionate about recruiting and fostering strong employee relations engagement. The HR Generalist will provide a visible HR presence to facilitate real-time employee relations, engagement, and solutions. This role is essential in contributing to the delivery of key HR processes, including career development, performance support, employee movement, leadership coaching, union relations, and benefits management. In this position, the HR Generalist will utilize HR metrics and people data to drive solutions based on trends and assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for developing innovative solutions to complex problems, ensuring that these solutions align with the organization's objectives. As a subject matter expert in various HR disciplines, the HR Generalist will provide guidance on personnel policies and procedures to both employees and management. Collaboration with the human resources team is crucial, as the HR Generalist will help develop effective recruitment strategies and identify future staffing needs. Additionally, the role involves processing complaints related to sexual harassment, discrimination, or other workplace harassment, and assisting in necessary investigations and disciplinary actions. This position is full-time, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week during the day shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a visible HR presence to enable/facilitate real-time employee relations, engagement, and solutions.
  • Contributes to the delivery of key HR processes such as career development, performance support, employee movement, leadership coaching, union relations, and benefits.
  • Utilizes HR metrics and people data to drive solutions based on trends and understand effectiveness.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation, ensuring consistency with organizational objectives.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the majority of HR disciplines, acting as a true generalist.
  • Provides personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
  • Collaborates with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies and identify future staffing needs.
  • Processes complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assists in necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated knowledge in the human resources field.
  • Experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding.
  • 3+ years of experience recruiting hourly roles.
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
