About the position

The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting the organization by providing guidance and HR expertise to employees and management based remotely in the US and Canada. This role is responsible for supporting the continued automation and enhancements of HR related systems and processes. The position will provide support in the areas of recruiting and onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, federal and state labor law compliance, talent management, as well as maintenance of our employee personnel data. The HR Generalist serves as the subject matter expert on the organization's Human Capital Management/Human Resources Information System. In this role, the HR Generalist will conduct new hire orientation for all Field Leadership and HQ employees, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. They will be responsible for the ongoing optimization of the candidate and new hire experience, working closely with the HR Coordinator to oversee high volume recruitment of hourly club staff. The HR Generalist will develop new and creative ways to attract and retain talent, supporting and leading ongoing initiatives geared toward strengthening the HR infrastructure through continued automation, system enhancements, and the implementation and maintenance of new and existing integrations with various HR systems. Additionally, the HR Generalist will administer numerous HR plans and procedures for all organization personnel, assisting in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. They will advise and counsel management on matters pertaining to employee relations, retention, performance management, policy interpretation, and labor laws. The HR Generalist will lead annual compliance month efforts for the organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. They will support the annual performance management process, developing communication, and compiling and tracking information, as well as assisting in the administration of benefit plans and the open enrollment process. Maintaining HRIS records and compiling reports from the database will also be part of their responsibilities, along with participating in various projects related to the HR needs of the business and HR efficiencies, and performing other related duties and ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of five years of Human Resources experience
  • Prior experience of more than 3 years working in Workday
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with a high level of confidentiality
  • Analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with ATS databases
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with multiple competing projects and demands
  • Ability to work independently, plan effectively, and produce results
