About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Value Plastics, Inc. will play a pivotal role in fostering a world-class manufacturing culture that emphasizes trust, respect, safety, customer satisfaction, and inclusion. This position is designed to be a trusted resource for all employees, providing essential support to the Human Resources function. The HR Generalist will engage in a variety of services aimed at enhancing employee experience, including production recruitment efforts, onboarding processes, participation in career fairs, policy support, and general outreach to both internal and external customers. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with employees and leadership is crucial for success in this role, which is based onsite at the Loveland facility. In this role, the HR Generalist will serve as a partner to employees, supervisors, and managers, assisting with human resources administration and daily activities. The individual will promote a positive workplace culture and champion employee engagement initiatives. Responsibilities will include managing the employment lifecycle, conducting new hire orientations, and collaborating with the HR team on various employee-related issues. The HR Generalist will also support full life cycle recruitment for all production opportunities, whether temporary or direct hire, and will actively build applicant pools through outreach to community services, colleges, employment agencies, and social media. The HR Generalist will represent Nordson MEDICAL Fluid Components at career fairs and ensure adherence to Time to Fill requirements while communicating talent metrics. Additionally, the role involves partnering with external recruiting agencies to fill positions efficiently and working with managers to maintain current job descriptions. The HR Generalist will contribute to HR projects, including diversity and inclusion initiatives, and facilitate onboarding activities, including the I-9 process and documentation. Clear communication with functional partners is essential, as is assisting in gathering employment data for reporting and analysis, as well as planning company events and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as trusted partner to employees, supervisors, and managers for human resources administration and day to day activities.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and function as a champion of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Work with the HR team on various employee-related issues, including managing the employment lifecycle, new hire orientation, Talent Acquisition, and employee engagement.
  • Partner with the HR COEs to ensure strong collaboration and solution-focused outcomes.
  • Support full life cycle recruitment for all Production opportunities, temporary or direct hire.
  • Build applicant pools by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, other recruiters, social media, and internet sites.
  • Represent Nordson MEDICAL Fluid Components by attending appropriate career fairs and outreach within the community.
  • Adhere to Time to Fill requirements and communicate talent metrics.
  • Partner with external recruiting agencies to fill roles quickly and efficiently that align with internal guidelines.
  • Work with managers to develop and maintain current job descriptions.
  • Contribute to HR projects such as diversity and inclusion initiatives or organizational development efforts in partnership with HR Director.
  • Utilize a thoughtful and consistent approach to drive performance management initiatives.
  • Facilitate all onboarding activities including new hire orientation, I-9 process, and general documentation.
  • Maintain open, clear, and precise communication with functional partners.
  • Assist in gathering and preparing employment data for reporting requirements and analysis.
  • Assist in planning and coordination of company events, initiatives, programs, and special projects.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or a minimum of 3 years' experience in an HR role required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an onsite HR position supporting Production employees required.
  • Proficiency with WORKDAY is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with an Applicant Tracking System preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a Manufacturing environment with 75+ employees is preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, and relationship building abilities required.
  • Comfortability handling highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to deliver high-level customer service, displaying a positive company image and a positive attitude.
  • Critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to appropriately manage confidential, sensitive information required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications required.
  • Ability to develop an understanding and practice of Nordson values and competencies.
  • Self-management, work with limited supervision, taking the initiative to stay current with company and government regulations.
