About the position

Large import/export warehouse in Doral, FL is seeking an experienced HR Generalist. This is a temporary position, with an estimated assignment time of 6 to 12 months, depending on the needs of the business. The pay for this hourly/non-exempt position is $29.00 per hour. This is a 100% in-person position, with no option for remote work or work from home. The average work week is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 40-45 hours per week. Key proficiencies required for this role include Payroll Administration, with a mandatory 2+ years of experience with Paylocity HRIS or similar systems such as ADP WFN, UKG, or Bamboo. The HR Generalist will serve as the frontline point of contact for all employees regarding HR, Payroll, Benefit, Legal Compliance, EHS Compliance, or Policy questions. General HR and Payroll responsibilities will include daily HR tasks such as HRIS management, onboarding, recruiting, processing employee status changes, assisting with worker's compensation claims, accident reporting, benefits administration, legal compliance, company training initiatives, OSHA and safety compliance, facility security, and planning/executing employee engagement activities. The role also encompasses facilities maintenance, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, facility safety and security management, EHS/ESG projects, contacting repair vendors for estimates, scheduling repair vendor visits, managing repair invoice processing, supply order processing, and special facilities project management. Candidates must possess an above-average working knowledge of common HR procedures, practices, policies, and legal compliance, including FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, EEOC, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, and ADA. Advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word are mandatory, with the ability to create HRIS/Payroll reports based on raw data in both Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent people skills and 100% fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken, written, and understanding) are also required, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer timecards, bi-weekly payrolls and benefit programs.
  • Perform a variety of Human Resources and HRIS functions.
  • Assist with Facility Safety, Facility Maintenance, Facility Safety/Security, EHS/ESG Projects, Staff travel, Executive Team relocation, housing, Worker Visa processing, and related duties.
  • Manage employee relations, communication, and legal compliance.
  • Oversee recruitment, new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Assist with employee engagement, events, awards and programs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business Management, HR Management, Psychology, or similar + 10 years related experience, or MBA degree in Business, HR Management, or similar + 5 years related experience.
  • 2+ years experience with Paylocity HRIS or similar HRIS (ADP WFN, UKG, Bamboo).
  • Full cycle Payroll processing experience of 2+ years.
  • Above average working knowledge of common HR procedures, practices, policies and legal compliance: FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, EEOC, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA and ADA.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Accounting, Finance, AP/AR background or experience is a plus.
