About the position

The HR Generalist at Troy Design Manufacturing Company plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources Department in various functions, including policy and process development, employee relations, and recruitment. This position is essential for ensuring that the HR operations run smoothly and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the organization. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities related to employee benefits, leave administration, and recruitment processes. This includes overseeing eligibility, enrollment, claims management, and communication regarding benefit programs. The HR Generalist will also track absenteeism and ensure compliance with leave policies, which is vital for maintaining workforce productivity and morale. In addition to benefits administration, the HR Generalist will actively participate in recruiting efforts and the New Employee Orientation process, ensuring that new hires are effectively integrated into the company culture. The role requires collaboration with the Senior HR Generalist in Total Rewards to support reward and recognition initiatives, which are important for employee engagement and retention. The HR Generalist will also engage in employee relations activities, maintaining open lines of communication with the HR team and management to interpret and enforce company policies and procedures. The position involves coaching and discipline for employees and supervisors when necessary, which requires a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion. The HR Generalist will draft and disseminate approved HR communications, ensuring that all employees are informed about relevant policies and updates. Additionally, the role may involve completing special assignments as directed by the HR Manager, providing opportunities for professional growth and development within the HR field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of all benefit programs, including eligibility, enrollment, claims management, and communication.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of all leave administration and absenteeism.
  • Oversee day-to-day recruiting efforts and the New Employee Orientation process.
  • Assist the Senior HR Generalist - Total Rewards with reward and recognition efforts.
  • Participate in Employee Relations activities, maintaining communication with the HR team.
  • Partner with Management and HR Team to interpret and enforce Company policies, procedures, and training.
  • Engage in employee and supervisor coaching and discipline when necessary.
  • Draft and send out approved Human Resources and Company Communications.
  • Complete special assignments as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent related experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a Human Resources department.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high job demands, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work successfully with a variety of people from all levels of the organization.
  • Sensitivity to the feelings of others and confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR certification preferred.
